The General Store of Lutherville, 1890
Tuesday, 16 October 2007
The General Store of Lutherville, 1890.

Now the location of NedSparrowBooks and our family home.

We've done the balustrade pickets but haven't yet gotten to the carpenter gothic supports under the gables. Maybe these gents are minding the store or waiting for the train to arrive (just across the street.)

Recent press: http://www.urbanitebaltimore.com/sub.cfm?issueID=45&sectionID=4&articleID=601

I grade conservatively, personally inspecting all the books and trying to describe their hurts (if any) so you have no surprises. Please email or call if the book is not as you expected. If I err on the description, I’ll pay your postage and fully refund, on return of book within 25 days.

My best Amazon.com feedback is the (more than) one that says, "Better than described!" You can see by my feedback numbers that I’m just getting started as a seller, though I’ve been collecting books for years and giving away book ideas as an English teacher since 1987.

Returning customers: just use the coupon code from your previous order's packing slip during the checkout process to get TWO for the price of one or 25% off any book.

Paypal and Google Checkout honored. Personal checks are welcome but please allow time for them to clear.

Recent feedback: Can you believe I get this kind of prose in my inbox? The joys of literacy and camera-ready prose:

Dear Professor Ned Sparrow,

Well! I just encountered this morning your (I suppose) customary message concerning nedsparrowbooks's particular protocols-- along with several other such communications relating to the small cluster of books I purchased yesterday through Amazon from various vendors. How I could have failed to notice, while exulting over the Marguerite de Angeli,  that it was indeed your enterprise and none other offering Skipback School for purchase I will be permitted to ponder until my mind jellies, but there it is: it's the Dr. Watson award for me yet again with no likelihood of Holmesian perspicacity probable this side of the inferno Dante has hinted at so memorably. A transaction with you some time ago-- a transaction that has permitted me to own yet another copy of Cranford-- was simply olympian-- the very best on-line purchase I've ever enjoyed or hope to. Style, sir? You have it.

Looking forward to the book and wishing you well there in Lutherville,
                 Elizabeth Pierce
